PerformancePro

About PerformancePro

PerformancePro stands out in a crowded market by a simple promise: benefit from the training enjoyed by pro athletes. Run by a group of sports science-educated trainers, and including a sports re-hab clinic, it delivers science-lead, bespoke training to discerning clients.

Project goals: Create a futuristic gym appealing to male and female audiences

The brief from PerformancePro was to create a space that reflected the boutique requirements of its clientele and the scientific approach of the venue: a gym akin to a professional training center disguised as an intimate, personal space.

Solution

We used subtle lighting, and mirrors to visually extend the spaces’ length and width, along with industrial accents such as brushed faux concrete and brickwork (recycles from Pinewood studios) to create a contemporary feel. The ‘let’s get down to work’ vibe is accentuated by the running track that delineates the walk-way from the gym floor, and the manufactured lifting rigs and weightlifting platforms complete with heavy duty storage racking. Customers have to walk via the gym – to experience it – as they make their way to the physio rooms.

Results

The gym looks and feels way different to usual workout spaces – whether those are the big box gyms or smaller personal training spaces. The vibe’s in keeping with the unique approach of PerformancePro, while the combination of training and rehab is generating business: a high of number of people join the gym who’ve first visited the treatment rooms.
